Brooklyn Junction Bridge #390 Extension

Location: New Martinsville, WV

Project Description

• Extension of custom cast-in-place and reinforced concrete box culvert adjacent to an active rail bed
• Placement of over 16,000 cubic yards of earth and aggregate fill to facilitate the installation of 1 mile of additional track
• Demolition of old and installation of new track system to include turnouts
• Project included installation of 8” trench drains to facilitate drainage
• Installed Gibraltar TL3 Cable System with driven posts for the safety of rail maintenance workers
• Extensive erosion controls and restoration efforts were executed due to slope conditions
