Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base - Greater Sandy Run & Gravel Roads Phase 2

Project Description

• Project is located in Onslow County, North Carolina which covers 62 different roads with a total of over 84 miles
• Installed over 435,000 tons of aggregate at a depth of 6” to 18”
• Approximately 1,360 linear feet of 18” to 60” culvert pipe were installed at various locations
• Installed 2 low-water crossings consisting of concrete articulated mats used for tank crossings
• The area is an active military training grounds and Kwest worked closely with client to schedule work around the training areas
• Installed 9.7 miles of geotextile fabric under aggregate roads due to poor and unsuitable subgrades
